Paynes Creek is a gorgeous 7 mile trail that offers numerous gorgeous views of Lake Hartwell. The Paynes Creek Campground is nearby.
From I-85 take the 178 exit (lavonia) and proceed on highway 17 south - take the 77 connector in town. Follow Hwy 77 south approx 4 miles out of Lavonia until you come to a stop sign and you will see the State road signs for Paynes Creek camp ground. follow the signs until you enter the camp ground and go to the boat ramp - you will see the trail head on the left.
